Palazzo Saporiti

Here is another example, like Palazzo Serbelloni, of the grandiose Neoclassical style of architecture that was in vogue during the Napoleonic Era.

It is the work of the early 18th century architects. Perego and Alemagna. The fagade opens onto the street with an enormous loggia, almost an orator’s gallery.

On the top story are statues of the “Consenti”, Roman gods and goddesses (sculptors: Marchesi and Rusca) Within the loggia is a basrelief by Marchesi. The large interior rooms are adorned with magnificent decorative gilded stucco work and ceilings.
