Piermarini constructed this palace for the princes, Antonio and Alberico Barbiano of Belgioioso between the years 1772 and 1781. The façade has three stories of twenty-five windows or doors each (three large doors) set into shallowly jointed ashlar stonework The central pediment is triangular. It has a colossal staircase decorated with classical stemmed vases. Above the columned gallery, on the semicircular vault, is German Neoclassical fresco by the Tyrolean, Martin Knoller.
